We would like to thank over 300 volunteers, who joined us (KOD UK) and the Committee for Defence of Democracy, and worked during the Polish parliamentary elections 15-16 October 2023 as pooling stations observers. The volunteers were present on all continents (except South America), for example in Chicago, Paris, London, Nuremberg, Hague, Barcelona, Breda, Cagliari, Omagh, Almaty, Inverness, Melbourne, Abuja and tens of other cities.
It is thanks to the volunteers that the votes could be counted transparently, adhering to the electoral law procedures and on time. The observations gathered by the Committee for Defence of Democracy will be used to advice on the organisation of future elections.
On 4 November in London we invited the observers (both from the political parties and civic society groups), employees of the pooling stations, coordinators and all the volunteers to celebrate the success. We celebrated the fact that hundreds of Poles decided to get involved and contribute their free time to defending democracy.
We would like to Lewisham Polish Centre for having us.
